Job Responsibilities

  • This is a general assistant role under both video and photo department. Experienced applicants will be considered for Senior Camera Assistant position.
  • Role required and be trained for will include- Grip, Digitech, Photo Assistant, Sound, Camera Assistant.
  • Work closely with Technical Manager, Photo and Video departments to arrange a set that best suits settings on the camera.
  • Control the lighting equipment, audio, media management. Senior CAs will need to guide crew members and interns under them.
  • Maintain, clean, and test all equipment and cameras to ensure every tool is in good working order before each shoot.
  • Be a second pair of eyes and ears to support the photographer and videographer. To know and apply the technical aspects of lenses, film, filters, light, and camera settings to each shot to ensure the director gets the effect required.
  • Keep up to date of latest production trends, systems, and skill sets.
  • Pack, loading and unloading relevant equipment for shoots.
  • Manage camera maintenance such as upgrading software of cameras, cleaning lens, etc
  • Update and maintain equipment inventory list.
  • Where possible, you can also take on roles as camera operator and photographer.

 

Job Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Nitec/Degree/Diploma in Filmmaking, Production or Mass Communication or related field preferred

Experience

  • No experience required as training will be provided

Other Prerequisites

  • A trustworthy member of the crew. Team player and detailed-oriented.
  • Able to multi-task and manage different projects simultaneously.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to handle stress from various production departments.
  • Able to think quickly on your feet and instinctive in sharing creative solutions.
  • Production experience is an advantage, especially in setting up lighting equipment and establishing lighting requirements.
  • Competency in relevant file management and editing software a bonus such as Lightroom, Photoshop, Capture One, Premiere Pro
